Prayer Requests

Special Note

We have recently heard from a number of chaplains that the need for their services has been increasing. There has, of course, been a lot of internal activity in Iraq. For others who are nearing redeployment home, family stresses increase. At these times, tangible evidence of support is especially appreciated. So, in addition to ramping up the number of packages we send, it is equally important that these servants be daily upheld in prayer.

Chaplains are referred to by first name only in order to safeguard their security.

Within the next few days we begin operations in a totally new area. Unfortunately, there has not been coalition force presence for over a year. We know the enemy is heavy within the area, but the rules of the game have changed a little, and our warriors are ready. But the environment is very fertile for casualties. We also know there are some "good guys" there. So we have the difficult task of making friends and securing them and their families, while fishing out the Al-Quaida. Thank you for your support and prayers.

I would ask you to pray for Chaplain Honbarger, who is the chaplain for 5-73 Cav and for the families of those coming to grips with the loss of their lost ones. I would ask that you pray for the families who are dealing with an extension and the issues that the extension brings. As for me, please pray for my girls, that they get rest and find laughter. Also, I get down sometimes, just like everyone else and I could use prayers to release those feelings and give them to God so I may be used for His purpose and not my own.

Today I had three KIAs and one WIA. I'm very tired of losing soldiers.  We are the point of the spear, but this is crazy. I thank God it's not like WWII where they may take hundreds of losses a day. But this is a different kind of war, but the pain is the same.  No, I retract that.  It is more personal. I know their names. They are not part of a mass. But God created a unique individual that had buddies and they hurt. So for some it may be the same pain. But for most I think this war is very close and personal. Please pray for God's wisdom and strength as I minister to the comrades of the fallen heroes.
~ Chaplain Dave

I have a prayer request. One of my soldiers has a baby that was born in November/December time frame. The baby was born at 25 weeks. She has been in NICU the entire time. Recently she has developed some intestinal issues that could be potentially fatal. His wife has no support system and is just hanging out their flapping trying to be there with the baby. Please pray that God will work a miracle and heal that baby and provide support for this lonely wife.

Chaplain Timm and Chaplain Feig were due home in March but have been extended 120 days. Pray for them, their soldiers and the families at home who are discouraged due to the extension. Pray for my wife. She has her hands full with the two children and another on the way.
~Chaplain David

Pray for my wife as she cares for out oldest daughter who has Down syndrome.
~Chaplain Bruce

Pray for my husband at home caring for our four children.
